Mooter: I've been led to believe that Mr. Reed ain't particularly fond of the Internet or our little thread here. I don't know if this is actually true or not, but indirect validation of my statement comes from his comment of, "there's a misconception out there(about those line 1, etc. batteries). NO BATTERIES HAVE BEEN EXTENSIVELY TESTED OUT OF THE N.I. PLANT." He made a point of stating this explicitly, which, to my mind indicates VLNC is following the "gossip" here and he was attempting to curtail a rumor. Regarding the above thread commentary. It's too bad they don't assign someone as their official spokesperson here, it'd sure help prevent a lot of bad information from being disseminated. All public companies should evaluate that kind of role for themselves, in today's world it's a position I feel could be justified!!
So CR stated NO TESTS. That's fine, he did a good job of cutting that one down to size. But, your " no prototypes have been sent from Ireland, all apparently from Nevada" was NOT stated by him at all. Can you point to justification of your comment? I'm not attacking, just looking for validation to insure this thread doesn't walk down that same rumor mill again. However it goes, I'd like to think some sort of battery testing is underway, even if you have to read between the official company lines.
Regarding those other lines, I was heartened to hear him state that those lines would be configured based on client needs, ie. laptop, cellphone, etc. and not configured before hand. I'm gonna inference that they know, or soon will have nailed down, the clients those lines production will be allocated toward. This harks back to my theory expressed to GVander about all else being equal in the OEM world, the OEM who can provide their product with a longer lasting battery first(or the quickest) will garner the appropriate increase(hopefully) in market share. His statement regarding the additional lines lends credence to that hypothesis, which to my mind also makes a super closing sales argument VLNC could use to the OEM's they're soliciting.
Finally, I'd expect VLNC share price to basically wallow sideways, with a slight downward bias for the remainder of the quarter. What with all the recent volume activity it's reasonable to assume it's developed a base somewhere between $8 and $8.5 and should therefore stay in that range pending any new developments.
Whewwww,,this is the most "talking" I've done on any one thread in a while. I think I'll return control of the microphone to the next poster. ;-)
Regards!
