Ed,

There is no need to ever take the well off line to make a switch. In order to strip the NG liquids from the NG stream you have to run the NG through a NG processing plant. Assuming that a plant is available, the switch is a very simple matter. You also need to factor in the cost of the processing which in some cases is very high.
