Sorry, Kenny - don't believe everything you read. Mr. Gramlich is mistaken. Non-farm payrolls for November 2001 were 130,900,000. The October 2003 number was 130,132,000, for a difference of 768k.

BTW, we get November payroll numbers this Friday. Consensus is for a gain of 150k - I bet it'll be considerably higher than that.

PS: Bear Stearns raised its estimate of current qtr GDP up to +5%, in part because of yesterday's ISM report showing the fastest manufacturing growth in 20 years. So sad for Dean, Kerry, et al. LOL.
