Why are you guys so relentlessly slow on this? Bush did NOT say he didn't know of any connection, he indicated, as had others, that he had not PROOF of one. These are vastly different, and this is illustrative of a non-point which you are hinging upon an incorrect paraphrase.

Re: "Why was his message about WMD, of which none have been found?"

It could be because we STILL know he had WMD's he hadn't accounted for. Simple enough, I think, or maybe it's just me.

Re: "Why was his message about uranium from Africa, when he had evidence that this was not the case."

What evidence? One guys estimation based on some S.A. officials given opinion and word? Fact is, he still has evidence that it WAS the case that Saddam made the effort there. There IS no proof either way, and of course Bush said only that it was "reported."

Re: "Only this one defector to tell the tale?"

How quickly you forget. No, that was 2 defectors, years apart, telling the same tale. That was an American Company which found the plane in its satellite photos.

Re: "why hasn't the president spoken about it?"

Becuase he made it all up, but changed his mind about fooling us, LOL. He has spoken strongly about reasons for going to war in Iraq, as have others all along.

Re: "Just because Rush Limbaugh has a photo on his web site doesn't make it so, especially since he's been taking drugs for the last several years"

Now, that's pretty silly. We know where the photo comes from, and it ain't Rush Limbaugh's website(naturally, his pain relieving efforts then have no possible bearing upon the photographs).

Re: "These Iraqi defectors have so far proven to be anything but reliable"

Actually, not so. Finding that plane, and telling corroborating stories about it indicates otherwise.

Re: "If Saddam was training terrorists to hijack airplanes, then that is big news."

You bet. Do you call the testimony of two corroborating witnesses proof? I think not. Reason to doubt it? Only if you are pre-disposed. Read the interview, judge the details. He's spontaneous in his recollections and insights, and honest, IMO. Of course, the plane was found to have existed right where it was said to be...huh.
