For the destruction of the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein, one of the cruellest, most corrupt, and demented in modern history, was in itself reason enough to justify the intervention.

It is not valid to try and justify this war after the fact on the grounds that Saddam was cruel. There was a case to be made that removing Saddam would be a good idea, but that case was not made. The timing of the decision to attack Iraq was made based solely on congressional midterm elections and to meet that schedule lies had to be told. That in itself is enough to make the decision impeachable. It really doesn't matter much what rationalization Junior can cobble together now, what matters is the lies he told at the time.
