I was addressing ACFMike's question from an angle where I think ACF Mike was talking about some sort of a defining event, perhaps a cataclysmic breaking point in the financial markets by which the media will pronounce, 'oops, folks, we are in deep sh*t now', and by which the common folks come to the realization that past performance is not indicative of future prospects. There may or may not be a defining event. After all, Japan did not have any defining event since 1989 as its assets meandered downward in valuation.
