Boeing takes $20 mln stake in Richard Perle's fund - FT By Carolyn Pritchard
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) -- Boeing (BA: news, chart, profile) took a $20 million
stake in the investment fund run by Pentagon advisor Richard Perle, according to a
published report. The aerospace and defence giant told The Financial Times it made
the investment in Trireme Partners last year as part of a broad strategy to invest in
companies with promising defence-related technologies. Boeing said it had no
knowledge that Perle had advised the company on a controversial $18 billion deal to
lease refueling aircraft tankers to the US Air Force, or other Pentagon-related matters,
according to the FT.
