Dean may be courting but they won't cooperate with Dean.
Insiders know that Dean is not a strong candidate versus Bush and would also replace the current DNC and make the DLC yesterday's power. More important, they visualize a Dukakis type loss if Dean gets their favors. Party insiders control some 37% of the delegates needed to win. They can effectively block Dean and he knows it.
