I'm with you on this. Nature has many interesting ways of wreaking havoc on species that have populations too large to sustain.

Humans, despite their arrogance towards the natural world, are no exception. In fact, they'll probably die off faster and more completely than other species because of that arrogance. That is, faster than the ones we haven't erased yet.

Humans can't even cure the common cold, but they are confident in genetically redesigning both our vegetative and animal food supplies. Too funny. We design and force feed drugs to our citizens that have up to 4 or 5 pages of side effect data for each textual line of claimed benefits.

One thing is for sure. There are already way too many of us on this planet. Of course the religions, and the devoutly religious will never admit this, as they need us to reproduce like rats to feed the growth curve of their collection platters, and to destroy the competing religions.

I live in a conservative bible belt, and the never ending stream of mindless door knockers offering up their particular brand of dogma is astounding. So too is the domestic violence, drug abuse, property crime, murders, prostitution and teen pregnancies. Compared to the large city less than an hour away, all of the above stats in the bible belt are much worse than the city.

The masses are usually dead wrong at the really crucial turning points, and since my view of our current masses is that they are blindly manipulated, I'm sticking with gold and silver.
