Very true. The problem I see is not with production, but with finding people to consume all that we produce, and who can afford to pay for it. That’s why sending jobs abroad is not such a bad thing: the emergence of a strong middle class, especially a tech-savvy middles class, in countries that still have expanding populations is critical to the world economy.

A lot of us won’t want to think in terms of managing a global economy, but in a globalized world, we will have little choice.
