You are misreading China. Taiwan is an issue the transcends your logic. China is not bluffing and will pay the consequences rather than stand-by. They will go to war over Taiwan if pushed. Any gamesmanship that believes there is lots of wiggle room is beyond dangerous. China and the US are highly interdependent, but China would not hesitate to act. We've read several papers that state exactly this. --fl
