About face? Rumor has it that ObjectShare (ParcPlace subsidiary destined to consume the ParcPlace name) is hiring many Smalltalk developers. Rumor has it that hey are particulary looking for VisualAge programmers so they can mount a campaign agaist IBM's VisualAge. This is only 1.5 weeks after laying off most of ParcPlaces senior Smalltalk staff amid rumors of tabling Smalltalk. Perhaps they had transferred their best developers into Object Share prior to downsizing. Recent announcements indicated that Smalltalk was still in the product mix but it seems odd they would be hiring Smalltalk developers right after massive layoffs. Has anyone heard anything on this subject? Any information would be very helpful. The source of this rumor is third hand.
