Mohan: AMAT numbers are not terribly encouraging (more later)....back order position especially. Lots of semi producers ANNOUNCING new fabs and placing orders for equipment (perhaps to frighten off competitors, or more probably because THEY DON'T HAVE ANY CHOICE....once into this game, it's keep up with the Jones or you're no longer in the game), and I expected the back order to look stronger. It will be interesting to see just how much of this gets converted into "delayed" or "pushed out" situations. There is ample evidence of this already in Asia. Agree with your already discounted premise, but stand by to be spun (g). A tiny bit of encouragement at this end is being derived from the fact that I'm detecting lots of "antsy-ness" on the part of institutional types.....I suspect they've had enough of spinning and are starting to grope for the exits.
