The economic recovery will flatten out and wane. The housing stimulus from mortgage refinancing is past its peak. Consumer spending on autos and housing during the recession means less demand coming out of the recession. Consumers are somewhat satisfied. Monetary and fiscal stimuli will flatten. Interest rates will rise. Record trade deficits and budget deficits will weigh like an anchor on the recovery.
