Why can't the US ally itself with Pakistan AND India, China AND Japan AND Korea?

War between nations ought to be obsolete. I wish I could say that it IS obsolete but that would be silly, nobody can really predict the future. However, I can say that any country which engages in total all-out war with the United States will wish that it hadn't.

That's the whole point of the National Defense Strategy. We are so much more powerful militarily that it's stupid to fight with us, and we intend to stay that way. So why bother? Other nations should just devote their time and attention towards peaceful goals.

We can't prevent skirmishes between India and Pakistan, but I think we would intervene in the event of all-out war.
