I see a completely different picture. I see where already almost 3,000 (THREE THOUSAND) patients have been on Raptiva. The Psoriasis afflicted are a VERY CLOSE knit group. The Raptiva trials have been going on for YEARS!!! Raptiva has been closely watched by ANYONE interested in Psoriasis. The Psoriasis afflicted are NOT stupid, they know which product to pick. Almost EVERYONE thinks that a physician is the only one involved in picking medications for patients.......NOT NOWADAYS.....the patient is empowered by knowledge to not only pick his medication but also a patient friendly physician!!!!! BTW, there are no physicians nowadays ONLY HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS!!!! ANY HEALTHCARE PROVIDER is on equal footing with a "physician" nowadays. If a Psoriasis sufferer wants Raptiva and has money or insurance........guess what.......the psoriasis sufferer is going to get Raptiva. How do I know.........DUH!!! Look at Enbrel for Rheumatoid arthritis......DUH!!!! DNA figured they need AT LEAST 75 people out there to handle questions and speedily facilitate the process of getting Raptiva in the hands of Psoriasis sufferers. Remember DNA is like Microsoft......they keep their mouths shut and just keep on performing. DNA is even smart enough to go along with the mantra of Enbrel being a competitor all the while GUTTING them in the field. Once again that is one of the purposes of those 75 field reps. To GUT ANY competitor BIGTIME!!!! Can you imagine what goes on at a 75 member DNA rep sales meeting???? DNA has admitted at one presentation that a portion of those 75 are veterans in the Derm field!!!! Nothing like having your reps already entrenched with the Derms EXCEPT also too having an effective product that has already treated around THREE THOUSAND patients. What other biologic for Psoriasis has that big of a rigorous PSORIASIS TRIAL history????? THINK ABOUT IT!!!! I just hope that DNA has enough Raptiva for everyone.....remember the big Enbrel shortage for Rheumatoid arthritis?????? DNA and Xoma have built Raptiva..............the Psoriais sufferers will come. One last point!!!!!! It is a VERY fine line between not moderate Psoriasis and moderate Psoriasis. Now just WHO decides when a patient is AT LEAST moderate Psoriasis???? In the end it will be the PATIENT and a PATIENT friendly HEALTHCARE PROVIDER "physician." The same kind of deal when WHO decided WHO needed Enbrel for Rheumatoid arthritis and precipitated the BIG shortage of Enbrel in the past for Rheumatoid arthritis.
