Historically, France, Germany and England used to have major wars every decade or two. For that matter, Canada and the US had a war or two, and so did the US and Mexico. Why have things changed? One reason keeps getting put forward, that no liberal democracy has ever attacked another, and that may be the reason. Or it could be simple self-interest.
