<<There has been and will be no deflation in my life time>>

Deflation is debt contraction more than anything else.
Take a look at a 200 year chart of inflation and deflation and this is pretty obvious. The Fed's attempts to inflate may fail badly and prices may collapse.

There was a head fake in inflation in 1929-1930 as well and it quickly went the other way. the only difference this time is the debt bubble is far worse and the banks are on the hook for all of the real estate.

How can you have a boom when nobody owns anything and wages are falling? They can inflate all they want but workers have to make more or else...

Bonds are telling us that inflation is not on the horizon. If the Fed raises rates (which I doubt)the yield curve will flatten and deflation will be even more of a problem.

The real question is whether the world will destroy the current Fiat system in order to save the U.S consumer from going bankrupt. When the rubber hits the road, I don't think that they will.
