Ann,
I don't know much about China and Mexico slave labors. But I would like to know how many factories did you visit in India to brand them as slave labors. How many slave labors are roaming around in USA? Have you visited those farms in South and West or inner cities? What about their standard of living? Are you going to boygott US farm products?
You cannot dream of having artificially high wages for workers here and expect everybody in the world to do the same. In most countries, you don't have to raise to US level salary to have US level standard of living because of availability abundant labors and different expectations of standard of living due to culture and other factors.
As long as you elect politicians who are willing to spend $400 billion in defence and another $400+ billion for interests payment (to pay for the all the borrowing binge) you cannot keep complaining about other countries. Nothing will change.

The reason China, India, Mexico have slave labor is because they do not provide their workers with a fair wage, safe working conditions or any other benefits. Those 3rd world workers condtions should be upgraded rather than Americans quality of life being downgraded. The average inhabitants own this world--not greedy corporations. Those average people will set the rules--NOT multi-national monopolies. This is not the 19th Century & WE will not be trampled in the dust in order to make the wealthy EVEN wealthier. If necessary, this world trade fiasco could lead to an Off with their Heads! scenario. Company execs better take heed, or they won't be safe ANYWHERE.
