I am just wondering if many people of the liberal persuasion have this same experience.. When they, the libs, I mean, meet new people, have a casual acquaintance enough to move into political discussions, and if the "new acquaintance"is right wing, they immediately assume you are too..
As I think an individual is just a microcosim of society, it is very telling.. Very telling as it says something about the leadership of such.. Right wing or very conservative leadership of any society, whether it is extreme socialistic, capitalistic, nazis or tories, etc..
Why? I think I know why.. They think, numbers and power are behind them.. THEY want to be SAFE.. A safe call,no matter what the long term consequences are.. A cowardly positon, IMO, of course.. So I wonder?
Would all the extreme RWers here,would have been train conductors in the 40's or prison guards in the 50's and 60's in one of the Gulags of Siberia..
I hope not, but I don't know..
