Let's take a quick look at the leadership of the Americans, Israelis and Palestinians for the last 30 years. America: Nixon. Ford. Carter. Reagan. Bush. Clinton. Bush II. Israel: Meir. Shamir. Perez. Begin. Rabin. Perez. Netanyahu. Barak. Sharon. (I may be mixing up the order a little) Palestinians: Arafat. Arafat. Arafat. Arafat. Arafat. Arafat. Arafat. Arafat. Arafat. Every single one of the American presidents and Israeli prime ministers had a go at solving the problem. Let's think for a minute here, what is the one variable that hasn't changed over this period of time? Why don't we try swapping out this one unchanging variable and see if that isn't the sticking point after all?
