The claim that Bush has not managed to increase the troops more than 2%, because he is "rebuilding infrastructure" is even more ridiculous -- you don't need much infrastructure to support military policemen and civil affairs personnel, the key areas of shortages in Iraq, for example.

You speak from both sides of your mouth.

You give GWB credit for not increasing the military sufficiently...Yet you do not want to give Clinton credit for the cuts. Why not give congress credit for all of it?

Presently we have combat heavy elements mutually supported by infantry, tanks, bradley's, artillery, and air.
Your proposal to replace them with MPs and Civil Affairs folks riding around in humvees without increasing supporting infrastructure is laughable.

And if you think we are going to keep everything in place and just increase the numbers of MPs and Civil Affairs soldiers without increasing combat infrastructure, it is equally laughable.

Tell you what. Why don't you volunteer your son or yourself to drive one of your proposed Civil Affairs humvees around Baghad or Tikrit...be sure to tell your son he doesn't need military infrastructure backing him.

Let's cancel the orders for more new combat vests and M-4 rifles...Your son won't need new equipment. He will be OK with the unserviceable clinton equipment. It has been good enough for my family; it will be good enough for your kid.

Your comments about the demise of the Soviet Union are old clinton bs. The fact is, the US was being attacked repeatedly, often, and with increasing violence all the while clinton was spewing that crap. Clinton took credit for the first and ignored the second.

Too bad you and a lot of other Americans got hooked into believing it.
