In sum, the market is priced for perfection, and the environment is anything but perfect. This doesn't mean that the market can't trade higher. It can. But it means that the risks to those who want to play the game are extremely high, whether they realize it or not, and their chances of investment success are very low.

With all the liquidity sloshing around thanks to a verrrrry accommodating FED we should see a big economic turnaround with or without big job growth... At least that's what the big investment houses are banking on... That should be good enough to keep the market advancing through the early part of 2004... The perception of things getting better will drive the markets higher... Whether or not that merges with reality remains to be seen...
