Dean's the juggernaut because he's more clearly against the failed and anti-American Bush policies than the others, and not from focus groups but from outside the Beltway common sense. The others are losing ground.

Kerry's problem is that even while trying to criticize Dean, he agrees with him:

"Did I expect Howard Dean to go off to the left and say, `I'm against everything?' Sure. Did I expect George Bush to f--- it up as badly as he did? I don't think anybody did."

That's weak.

What hurts Kerry is the tentative start, and while I like the voice I hear now, that's a recent invention. The idea of riding Harley's onto Leno, and cursing, isn't enough to make up for the lack of decisiveness and spinelesness in giving Bush carte-blanche on the war. And everything else.
