Yes, well, Norway has not too many people and lots of offshore oil, hence they can afford their "socialism."

Which isn't to say that I disagree with your statement that "A compromise between Capitalism & Socialism is the wisest & most humanistic course." I don't. The ideas of a progressive tax system and fair estate taxes which maintains strong middle classes, makes it easy to be middle class but hard to be really really wealthy and even harder to pass pass that wealth on for more than a generation or two without institutionalizing it, seem to me to be key to that course.

OK, I know I just put myself on the dunking chair.<g>
