Hello AMM, I actually lack the necessary <<understanding>> and so I appear to have <<the guts>>, but I am actually quite afraid that my <<moves>> will one day land me where I do not want to be ;0)

Hmmn, seems tough. Here are stuff I either have subscribed to in the past, are subscribing to, or am considering achamchen.com and the only one who comes close is Marc Faber;
Faber's newsletter is in print only, and I have been a subscriber for 3-4 years now. He does not often update his website gloomboomdoom.com , however I notice that many of his newsletter thoughts end up here after about 2-3 week lag time dailyreckoning.com , but minus his specific stock picks (which in any case he only talks about with a very broad context/discussion
I subscribe to Faber's letter because he is a fun read, I like receiving mail :0) and also because his monthly report always contain one piece of writing by some guest money manager from some different part of the world, from Latin America to Switzerland, from Russia to New Zealand.
I like reading, and I believe spending the time is wise, and actually, in the scheme of things, cheap.
I have friends who are friends with Faber, and I am told he is actually a pretty cautious investor, even though he tends to have some small positions in really weird stuff and he likes to talk about them on TV and during Barrons interviews for effect.
However, whenever he picks some stock that I think is truly weird stuff, I always tag along, and so far it has been three for three:

I believe we in Hong Kong have an advantage over folks elsewhere in that we can see old fuddy duddies using crutches to walk and flower shop girls who are aware enough to stand at bank windows and check out the currency rates, metal prices, and global equity indices, and we have all sorts of eclectic money managers as lunch companions.
Also, Hong Kong folks are among the most (if not the most) best travelled population in the world.
Re <<“Under the Tuscan Sun”. Beautiful scenery, but Hollywood stereotyping galore!>>
... yes, but for guys, there is also an element of fantasy - wine, woman, sun, and olives, and altogether in one place :0)
