Talking of Clinton, I forgot to mention yet another "showcase" of bureaucratic inertia: CIA Director George Tenet, a holdover from the Clinton administration (1996) who managed to stick around US intelligence despite 911, despite the '98 bombing of US embassies in Africa, despite... you name it!

[Federal Reserve Chrm] Dr. Greenspan was reappointed to the Board to a full 14-year term, which began February 1, 1992. He has been designated Chairman by Presidents Reagan, Bush, and Clinton.
