An interesting factoid - against the backdrop of US, Scandinavian... power brownouts, it's a question when Germany will experience something of this kind? The most probable event (don't know the probability though) is gale-force winds surprising the wind stations producing at full power.

Suddenly - let's say within 30 minutes - having to switch power production in the order of 10.000 MW from wind to imports ("You gotta be kidding, Hans") or gas stations ("Du spinst, Hans!!! Nein, nicht mehr...")

The same argument applies to hydrogen production - one must assume the power at disposal will exhibit certain volatility, and that means intermediate storage etc etc. So what about burning all that weapon-grade Pu (sg)?...
