Huge pharmaceutical base launched in S. China www.chinaview.cn 2003-12-08 12:47:33 GUILIN, Dec. 8 (Xinhuanet) -- A large pharmaceutical industrial base, built at a cost of 150 million yuan (18 million US dollars),was launched Sunday in Guilin in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The Jiqi pharmaceutical park is engaged in pharmaceutical research and production, covering 56,700 square meters in the Guilin Hi-Tech Development Zone. Five production lines have been installed in the park to annually produce 800 million tablets, 100 million capsules, 200 million soft capsules, 20 million packs of granule, and 10 million pieces of eyedrop. It is also equipped with technological development and quality inspection centers, with some up-to-date facilities introduced from Germany. The Guilin Jiqi Pharmaceuticals is the first public company of its kind in Guangxi.
