WASHINGTON (AP) -- Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean holds a 25-point lead over Sen. John Kerry in New Hampshire seven weeks before the state's Democratic presidential primary, according to a poll released Monday.

Dean was at 39 percent and Kerry at 14 percent in the poll by Franklin Pierce College. In May, Dean and Kerry had been tied at 23 percent in the poll.

Almost one in four likely primary voters, 27 percent, were undecided. All other candidates were in single digits, including Wesley Clark and Sen. John Edwards at 5 percent each. Sen. Joe Lieberman was at 4 percent and Rep. Dick Gephardt of Missouri at 3 percent. At 1 percent each were Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich, Al Sharpton and Carol Moseley Braun.

In the Franklin Pierce poll, Dean had the support of 43 percent of independents while Kerry had the backing of 8 percent. Two-thirds in the poll, including more than half of Kerry's supporters, said they expect Dean will win the primary.

The poll of 600 likely primary voters was taken Dec. 1-4 and had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
