120,000 people killed in China in accidents so far this year

China's state media has reported that more than 120,000 people were killed in traffic, work-related and other accidents in the country in the first 11 months of this year.

The China News Service says the figures were released by the State Administration of Work Safety.

It says up until last month, 120,890 people had died in over 883,000 accidents.

This, however, represented a ten percent drop in the number of accidents, compared to the year before.

Despite recent improvements, China's roads, waterways, buildings and workplaces still rank among the most dangerous in the world.
