Joe Copia did exactly what I would have. Watching the ticker means you make judgement calls. Good judgement comes from experience, intelligence and luck. Luck I don't have, so I have to rely on whatever I can make of the other two. Joe profited this morning. Could he have made more? Perhaps. Could he have lost capital had it gapped down. Definitely. They say greed and fear are the two balancing emotions of a trader. This is naive and cynical. A professional, which Joe is, watches, thinks and then acts. And a pro does this as unemotionally as possible. Therein lies the line that separates those who profit regularly and strategically, and those who stumble through their trades between panic and exhiliration. It doesn't really have anything to do with money either. It has to do with one's maturity, commitment and decisiveness. Attributes everyone should pursue.

BTW, Joe, I was surprised at your short post also, so I looked in on it to see what was going on. Nice call.
