Gordon

thanks for the suggestion

I'll look into iTunes
but
that'll create another problem for me <gggg>

the location for the central home audio setup is a bookshelf in the kitchen with hard wires (ran all them before I built the house) to the various rooms (using small Bose bookshelf speakers now)

have experimented with several types of wireless devices lately in the house ...
I've been taking care of new granddaugher (15wks old) as her mom and dad have had the flu and we didn't want her to get sick ...

900 mhz remote nightvision camera sending to portable 5in tv with audio proved "better, but not much better" than 2.4 ghz one ....
lots of "static and snow on the screens" ...
hard wire was too clumsy, even though the one I did hook up was great pic and audio for monitoring the baby ...
didn't like the wires all over the floor, especially as my wife is recovering from a broken foot and is on crutches <ggg>
and I had too much trouble with three or four brands of wireless network routers (using hard wired network for the multi computer locations)

I can't get to the home audio center with hard wire, so, I can forsee big trouble trying to hook up a computer to play CDs

thanks though, I'll explore iTunes some more
