Internap Flow Control Platform Scores Highest Evaluation in Network Computing Magazine Review
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 9, 2003-- Internap FCP 100 Receives "A" Rating and "Editor's Choice" Award; Highest Marks of All Reviewed Network Optimization Tools
Internap(R) Network Services Corporation (Nasdaq:INAP), the leading provider of performance-based routing services over the Internet, today announced that Network Computing magazine named the Internap Flow Control Platform 100 (FCP 100) as the "Editor's Choice" for route optimization. The Internap FCP 100 received an "A" rating, the highest score of all reviewed route optimization tools.
The review, part of a feature on route optimization in the December 9, 2003 issue, states: "The FCP 100 had the best combination of features, functionality and management of all four products tested. It had excellent reporting, superior management options and it outperformed the others at crunching the vast amount of information gathered into meaningful reports."
Network Computing lauded the FCP 100 for its "unique" ability to monitor TCP flows in real time, "flexible" ability to balance cost and performance, and "almost endless" reporting options. In addition, the review noted the path diversity feature of the FCP 100 that enables network engineers to determine the convergence points of their service providers and make intelligent decisions about provider diversity and network performance.
"This review validates not just the outstanding performance of our FCP product line, but also the value of route optimization for multi-homed enterprises," said Ali Marashi, chief technology officer and vice president, engineering, Internap. "With the Flow Control Platform, enterprises can dramatically improve the performance of their applications, reduce the costs of their IP network and generate a return on investment in months."
Last October, Internap announced the completion of its acquisition of privately held netVmg, the firm that developed the FCP family of intelligent route control products. The acquisition has extended Internap's leadership in intelligent route control technology to the customer's premise, enabling the company to deliver edge-to-edge, managed IP solutions that give customers greater control and performance across their entire IP network.
Internap is today the industry's only single-source provider of both network-based and premise-based route control solutions. Internap also holds the industry's dominant position in software patents and patents pending associated with intelligent route control technology.
