kiss and make up just ain't part of the program... let's see: we got 911 and a poor copy of FDR we got Iraq invasion and landing on the carrier in victory.... followed by a 300% increase in combat deaths and untold billions added to the war budget etc etc etc, and nary a single new friend...but the loss of many old ones, and still no osama or saddam et al. we got tax cuts galore...very republican and huge deficits... (in prior times) a distinctly democratic vice. we got tarrifs and then we lost em right after the steel industry fund raiser.... no way to figure that one out. we got china taking our jobs with all kinds of tricks but our companies make everything in china... hard to figure that one out using shrub logic. we got the brand spanking new medicare/caid thang... hardly a copy of Johnson and his great society program... not at all republican... and yet? what is it anywho? now we got a new man on the moon we're going to mars thang to get americans looking ahead and positive.... the markets may return to the levels of 1962... but I doubt shrub will look like Jack in the same space. we got gobs of trickle up economics with very very little trickling down... guess he read the reagan biography backwards.... and we should call it doo voo economics. we got career statesmen and high level long serving civil service persons quitting their jobs out of.... say again... principle? ho ho ho we got CIA agents being exposed and their contacts killed because some folks reallly reallllly realllllllllly like to get even in a big way at tax payer's expense. we got so many words backed by hundreds of billions of dollars we don't have with nary an avowed result to show for it... name one? we've given up key cornerstone civil rights and consitutional guarantees.... and yet we haven't found a single homeland terrorist worth more than petty theft...but surely we have hundreds serving life sentences about whom we will never ever hear. we have new billions to spend on drug subsidies when we simply could go to canada and buy them all for 1/2 off. who gets the money? the people, from the people, to the people who supply the people.... market forces? we decided not to make everyone from 20 or so nations check in every few weeks now when they enter the country. too hard, we're told. we hired millions of security workers at airports, then we fired a bunch of them... meanwhile some joker ships himself in a box via fedex. talk about loop hole! we finally opened the post office in washington dc after anthrax shut it down. two years and millions to clean it up. we drained a pond in maryland. we have absolutely no idea who sent those letters. nightline has one of its reporters doing a recap of his experiences as an embedded journalist. his report is just as useless now as it was then. anyone got a thesis for 2004?????? <vbg>
