think they've blown it for this year. Next season is another matter

I have had the same thought about the launch of the FluMist vaccine...but as you stated, it really is a public perception of the value of the company and the products it has to offer.

My guess is that the FluMist won't do well this season, even with a terrible flu season. With the medical group where I did my "unofficial survey"....out of 13 primary care physicians, only a third of the physicians had made the personal choice to get a flu vaccine. Since it is impossible to vaccinate against all strains of the flu, some decide to just "take their chances" and opt to not get vaccinated for the flu. I know that isn't the popular viewpoint being publicized by the media, but it is a choice many make....so maybe those who want the flu vaccine have already received one by now?

I read the SI post where you linked the URL for the discussion of FluMist. I am surprised that any pharmacy would want to take the risk (medical legal risk) of giving the FluMist vaccine. IMO Walmart probably decided against the FluMist vaccine because of those concerns.

Thanks again for your thoughts on MEDI!
