Like the U.S. couldn't force the Palestinians and Isrealies to the peace table? How about withholding our $4 Billion in aid for Isreal or dangling a $4 Billion carrot in front of the Palestinians if they'll settle the peace process once and for all. The U.S. has the weight to bring peace between these two warring parties. Isreal can't live without our aid. Getting off foreign oil wouldn't be all that difficult either, energy efficiency and some of the emerging renewables would do the trick.
