"You must have had a red face when you rebutted..."
What does your sentence "It must be comforting for them to realize that the hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars we are expending in Iraq are not available for the fight against terrorism." mean then? I suppose you could interpret that the war in Iraq is not part of the war on terrorism, but you would be wrong with that interpretation also. What was your point oh wise one? Was it that Iraq is not part of the war on terrorism? In case you did not know, it is the "front" of that war right now.
"On another matter, you and others keep alleging that those of us who see a tortured path to a dead end in Iraq, are terrorist supporters"
You are. Maybe just too dumb to recognize it. If so, you fall into the "useful idiot" category. Again, do you think that Iraq is NOT part of the war on terrorism?
"while those who lack the acumen or the courage to see impending failure create disaster?"
You think it is "courage" that leads to your belief that the U.S., Great Britian and our allies will lose to Osama, Saddam and the terrorists. That is the opposite of courage imo, and leads to my belief that people like you DO help the terrorists. If the entire world would recognize that terrorism is bad and would unite against it, the battle would be WON much more quickly. But there are many throughout the world that think we are wrong to pursue them.
"Don't be such an empty headed cheerleader"
Don't be such a negative doomsayer. To say that we will lose is ridiculous, and short of Dean becoming President (which will not happen imo), we will be victorious. And you gusy that think we will lose will just have to live with it.
"When we talk about our weaknesses and the other team's strengths, that's not disloyal, that's smart"
I'm waiting for one of the dems to do this. I agree that it is not disloyal to discuss strengths and weaknesses. But they are just attacking and 2nd guessing.
"but when the cost of losing is even one additional American youth and billions of dollars that could better be spent elsewhere"
Is this an example of such enlightened discussion? Is this the best you have? Looks like emotional rhetoric that does not take into consideration that there will be lives lost in a war against the terrorist, but not as many as letting them proceed as they were. Just negative comments AGAINST the U.S. position. |
