I share your views on equality in merit and ability. But the question is not what I think, or what we hand-holding, Syrah-sipping, Volvo driving liberals think....it's what the folks think in the Southern part of this country that counts in this election.

And, if you think the "popular mainstream" view is that women are of equal merit and ability to men, then you misapprehend the overwhelming majority mindset in this country, IMO.
