Well I hope that my being long MEDI sufficiently offsets my "negative tone" - I wouldn't want to confuse anybody. <g>

On ABC News tonight there was a fairly long piece on the Flumist alternative. Some interesting nuggets:

- a comment from an insurance-type person that some companies in states where there is an epidemic are "re-evaluating" their insurance (presumably non-)coverage of Flumist.

- a comment from one Dr Sam Katz from Duke that Flumist is "probably" more effective against this strain than the standard vaccine.

- a comment from (I think) the CDC that people should consider Flumist (if they are eligible).

There was even a picture of someone getting a Flumist spray - "That was easy" said the victim.

So if MEDI can't sell out their 5 million doses after all this then something is seriously wrong. I think one key sign will be whether they abandon the rebate.
