how's your brother making out at Walter Reed ?

Hi Kumar,
He arrived there late Monday. I spoke with him for a long time last night.

Has one knee tore up pretty good that will need reconstruction and lots of therapy. One large chunk hit his right shoulder. It is sewn up OK but still painful.
He has 2 tiny pieces of shrapnel in one eye. His vision is still ok. The eye Docs are trying to figure out if it will stay that way or if they need to go after the metal. He has multiple other frag wounds in his arms, legs and face...much of the metal was not removed.

His spirits and morale are very high. He told me he had over 300 combat missions in a tank in Gulf war 1 and 2. He finally got promoted into a staff job, went for a ride in a nice comfortable and quiet humvee and nearly got killed by an RPG. He is ready to exchange the extra stripe for a tank.

He has one buddy with him who lost a leg just below the knee.

I was going to drive up there today, but he expects to get a two week medical recuperation leave next week. I'll see him then and get the combat scoops.

He did tell me they are seeing a new and improved version of the RPG that can penetrate Bradley's. He thinks they are made in Russia and coming from Syria.

Before hanging up, I called him magnet ass.
