8:18AM PC shipments to reach record levels in 2003 and 2004, according to IDC : IDC's updated forecast projects that strong demand from the consumer segment, aggressive pricing, and rapid portable adoption will continue to drive worldwide PC growth in Q4 of 2003 and into 2004. Strong third quarter results and projected growth of 15.3% in the fourth quarter are expected to boost annual growth of worldwide PC shipments to 11.4%, an increase from prior growth projections of 8.4% according to IDC's Worldwide Quarterly PC Tracker.
