Certainly not. International competition alone rules out this avenue. We would have seen inflationary pressures now already in a nostalgic industry scenario. International trade shuts down this avenue. Productivity improvements of historic magnitude further accomodate all inflationary pressures..

no - I'm thinking about rising REAL INTEREST RATES in the shorter end next year - as I think the FED is going to increase rates - without any inflationary situation - just to prevent it from building up, probably late summer 2004..

it will cost some GDP growth but certainly shouldn't kill the current expansion..
