What is most maddening, amid a host of maddening Leftist positions, is that the Jews are never allowed to be what they are and have been for thousands of years, a people.
They are either ruthless colonialists, who obviously deserve whatever they get, or a bunch of religious whackos whose plain duty it is to be the only true Christians among nations and turn the other cheek. But they're not a people. They can't be, you see, because the minute they are a people, they might have a homeland and a right of self-determination, like other peoples.
Now, the Palestinians, who only invented themselves as a people 40 years ago in opposition to Zionism, their right to be a people is never questioned for a minute. Nor is their conduct ever outrageous, only sadly mistaken, because they've suffered, don't you know, and well...they're just wogs, can't expect better of them (this last part is not said aloud but I swear it's what's meant). |
