These comments may be forward looking,and I hope to hell they are.
This what I heard today.1) CCSI is going to make a very large commitment to getting the story out on the Bilirubin approval.As many of you know,this has been one of my thoughts,that someone would pick it up,because it is of interest to everyone.Darby has hired a top guy to get this done,not PR,Investment Information.
2)She focused on other opportunities,as we all have been waiting for FDA,but now the business begins in earnest.She mentioned a) hair coloring,cosmetics,hosiery applications.b)Dentistry,caps,bonding,etc.c)Industiral,soil,grain markets,where colors have to be ascertained and proven. d)A pocket size calculator that a woman could carry around to match fabrics,clothes,cosmetics,paint,etc.
3)RE:: Marketing and distribution.What a lot of people were concerned about was how,when,how much,numbers,ability to achieve any of these.She said she is being courted by some very large international firms that have a keen interest.I am sure some were hoping for that news today.I have said countless times in the past,that when and if we got FDA,we would have a valuable asset.My firends we have a very valuable asset!She said "We have a once in a
lifetime opportunity",and she knows this better than anyone esle,and is going to structure the best deal for her shareholders.Any of you who have called,have had a chance to speak to her,she doesn't duck,she really cares about her shareholders.
4) She also said that going into FDA approval they had identifiied 2 large markets,Hospital and peditrician,but now the home health care market is an added opportunity.It was also mentioned that babies were tested for Bilirubin at birth and sometime later.That is 2 tests.Preemies have 3-4-5 tests done per day for a number of days.How many babies are born in the World each year?
She stated 4 goals.
1)FDA ---DONE
2)Sign a big distribution deal---in works
3)Develop hand held instrument-3-6months
4)Additional management--shortly.
CCSI is a 2 edged sword.MEDICAL and COMMERCIAL.If we get a deal with a major,and then have CCSI#2 as I call it go after the Commercial side,we are going to have 2 streams of recurring sales and earnings.
The analysts that follow medical instrumentaion stocks are going to have to have an opinion on CCSI,they will not be able to duck it in a reasonable period of time.We have no competition,we have a market that is growing year after year,we have THE leader.
I was fortunate to have dinner with Darby last week,and meet all of her co-workers.This is a well oiled machine,dedicated to get the job done no matter what.I have met with many CEO's and each have their own characteristics,but this lady has a fire and a determination in getting the job done,and getting it done right.When talking about the company and its future her eyes light up.It is tough to desribe,but she has had a vision, a dream,a
goal,and she is there,and now we are all going to get paid well for what she has done.
I don't know what will happen tomorrow or the next day,I don't know how many people were playing the conference call,I will leave that to people smarter than I am,but in the next 2 months as this story unfolds,we are going to have an investment of a lifetime.There were over a hundred people on the call.Not many questions,because she answered everything that could be answered.I am sure some will be dissapointed because she did not roll out sales
and earnings for the next 4 quartes,but I wonder if Gates,or Jobs,or any of the pioneers did that at the beginning.
Let me share a short story with you.I have presented this idea to anyone who would listen to me,and most of these people are a lot smarter than I am,and all along they had little confidence in the story,saying it was too good to be true,and Darby won't be able to get it done.Each of these people came to me over the last few days,and particularly after the call,and said I'll be a son of a bitch,this is going to be big.
