Liz statement is in general true (and not restricted to Catholism) and one only need look to Québec to see the results echoed by a fervent rejection of the Catholic Church by and almost an entire generation. Much of the political woes of Québec were fomented by the Church.

In my upper middle class neighbourhood we have one of the strongest parishes in Toronto. Not too many poor folk around . Times change. I'm no model practitioner but I do go to Church pretty regularly. It just makes me feel good, what can I say :o) No offense taken here.
