I had a decent slice of BRIN stock from 1987 to 1993 or so as a result of non-tradeable stock received for my role in a a venture capital investment that AEA Investors, where I was employed as an investment analyst, made in them circa 1987. I think I was actually on the Board of Directors of BRIN before it became a truly publicly traded company rather than a completely illiquid penny stock.

Believe it or not, I'm not sure whether I was or wasn't. I was canned from AEA in 1989. Subsequent to that BRIN did a substantial secondary offering, with a reverse split I think, and I was able to sell my shares into the public marketplace.

Before you laugh at my directorship, Frank Stanton and Bill Hewlett were also directors! It's an interesting firm.

Anyway, what I do remember well is lending Lynn Briggs $30,000, $15,000 of which he repaid me from BRIN proceeds. He said he wanted to go into the business broker business and stop working for some stock guy in Chicago. I was a bleeding heart even then. At the time I had zero insight into what his activities consisted of. He was quite a pleasant guy to be around, I thought.

Lynn, if you are seeing this, how about cleaning that matter up? Some interest should have accrued as well.

Peter
