Our allies including Canada opposed us because of our leadership at the top. This distrust of Bush began during his first trip to Europe after he quasi-legally got elected and acted like he had a mandate to change everything in the world. The Euros never got over it and despite the goodwill post 9-11, they have never trusted Bush since. Sure enough, they were right, Bush lied about the reasons for war. Don't blame the French. Would we go to war for them based on fabrications?
