Donating online by starting at alphaproject.org

What did work however was starting here:
networkforgood.org
Then create a profile, search for Alpha Project (a
bunch of similar names will come up including Alpha
Project for the Homeless, and then you can donate okay.
You will be asked to add another $3 to support the
donation system, but you can opt out of that.
An email arrives you can print out for your deductions
folder.
Here is the email they send you:

Thank you for your tax-deductible contribution using the Network for Good Giving
System. You may save or print this receipt for your records. It certifies that
you have made this donation as a charitable contribution and you are not
receiving any goods or services in return. This receipt may be useful to you
when completing your tax return.

charities receiving the funds. All donations are final and may not be refunded.
