Borb,
rising rates can be administered proactively to PREVENT future inflation from coming up instead of ex-post facto.. I have to modify my prognosis by the FED's own words (the minutes) that they believe rates to be raised in 2005 extrapolating current trends.. You seem to imply that rising inflation necessitates rates.. whereas my position is that it'S not inflation but a humming economy operating near the capacity frontier (90-95% of capacity utilized) that will necessitate rates.. The difference is about the TRIGGER that should lead to rising rates here..
